All Kona Dog Wear Handmade products are machine washable. Check below for specific instructions regarding your gear and how to clean it.
Webbing Collars & Leashes
Kona Dog Wear Collars and Leashes made with our exclusively designed webbing are machine washable. Add your items to a garment bag and toss in the washing machine.
- Machine wash cold
- Do not use harsh chemicals
- No Phosphates or Liquid Bleach
- Lay flat to air dry
*Make sure there is no velcro on other items in the machine.
Hand washing is also acceptable, soft scrubbers such as a tooth brush are helpful.
- Dish soap or hand soap
- Rinse well
- Air Dry
Rope Collars & Leashes
Kona Dog Wear Collars and Leashes made with rope are machine washable. Add your items to a garment bag and toss in the washing machine.
- Machine wash cold
- Do not use harsh chemicals
- No Phosphates or Liquid Bleach
- Lay flat to air dry
*Make sure there is no velcro on other items in the machine.
Hand washing is also acceptable, do not use scrubbers such as tooth brushes or rough sponges.
- Dish soap or hand soap
- Rinse well
- Air Dry
Fanny Packs
Kona Dog Wear Fanny Packs are machine washable. Make sure to remove all contents then place in washing machine.
- Machine wash cold
- Do not use harsh chemicals
- No Phosphates or Liquid Bleach
- Lay flat to air dry
You may use a garment bag but it is not necessary.

BioThane Collars & Leashes
Kona Dog Wear Collars and Leashes made with genuine BioThane® are handwash only.
- Hand wash with mild dish soap
- Use a toothbrush or sponge to scrub when needed
- Do not use harsh chemicals
- No Phosphates or Liquid Bleach
- Lay flat to air dry
*Baby Wipes are a great way to clean BioThane. Avoid using hand sanitizers or lotions when handling BioThane to prevent degrading the rubberized coating.
**Please note that the use of topical Flea and Tick products can breakdown the BioThane product over time.
